This project integrates 3D modeling, scenography, video editing, and sound design. The objective was to create a three-dimensional environment and use it as the setting for a short animated film presented from a first-person perspective.
The angle at which the passages are layed out, is inspired by the moving staircases in Harry Potter. Lighting plays a significant role in shaping the atmosphere, with bright hopeful colours at the top and more disturbing unnatural hues for the lower areas. The sound design reinforces the feeling of unease, with eerie cries growing more frequent and pronounced as the protagonist descends further.
This is a short 3D animation depicting a subterranean tower. The story behind it is related to the Tower of Babel.
After centuries of failed attempts to build a tower that reached the heavens, doubt in it's existence crept in, and faith began to fade. In their desperation, a small group of people turned to a new idea. If they could prove the existence of hell, it would confirm that heaven must also be real. And so, instead of building upward, they began to dig.
